Sylvain Matte

Sylvain Matte is President of Coefficient Management, based in Montréal (Québec), offering management consulting, facilitation and training services. Fluent in French and English, his background includes a degree in IT, an MBA, 14 years at Alcan, and more than 30 years as a consultant. In addition, from 2015 to 2021, he developed, launched, and served as Program Lead and Advisor for the Undergraduate Certificate in creativity and innovation at the University of Montreal.

His areas of expertise include organizational diagnostics, strategic planning, IT strategy and governance, change management, and project management as well as training and facilitation in creative problem solving and applied creativity. He has managed projects, provided consulting services, delivered graduate studies courses, and facilitated sessions in Canada, the United States, México, Brazil, Columbia, Haiti, various EU countries, Northern Africa, Congo, and China.

He has been at CREA since the beginning. He has helped design and deliver multiple programs, and as a member of the CREA Team, he has contributed on many facets to the preparation for the annual event. He is a lifetime member of the Creative Education Foundation and was a leader at their Creative Problem Solving Institute conference from 1991 to 2000, and a member of the organizing committee from 2001 to 2004. He was awarded their Distinguished Leader Award and the Distinguished Service Award. He is a founding member of Créa-Québec and served as vice-president from 2011 to 2014.
